Funniest man in America? | January 27, 2006

For those of you who missed the Golden Globes and the wonderful acceptance speech by Steve Carell (NOT Steve Carrell, thankyouverymuch), Whine & Cheese rewatched it in a repeat on Bravo and transcribed the whole darn thing right here, since there didn't appear to be a transcript anywhere else online. Thanks to him for doing that, because that hilarity should be recorded in history. Or the blogosphere. (Aren't they the same thing by now?)

By the way, the speech gets my vote as one of the greatest speeches in recent awards show history, right up there with Matt Damon & Ben Affleck's Oscar speech and Larry David's Golden Globe win.

(Which brings up the question: WHY can't we at least buy transcripts/tapes of past awards shows? Some of us would be crazy enough to actually want them, and it seems like an easy way for the various academies to earn some cash. Not that they need it, but that's never stopped anyone before.)

Missed that. but LOVED him as Uncle Arthur in "Bewitched" (the film of course, since he was a little kid like me when the series was on). Funny man.

Yay. I love Steve Carell. I'd make his wife disappear and totally seduce him if I wasn't ethical. Seriously.

DeAnn, did you see my explanation of 'The Roundtable' in response to your question? Over yonder at me wee little blog?

Oh, yeah, he is pretty damn hilarious. Sounds like his wife is pretty funny as well.

Thanks so much for the shout-out (and link) Deann! Have been noticing some traffic from here. Always nice to see another TV junkie... I'll be checking back for sure.
