Last Comic Standing (and a pinch of Big Brother) | August 10, 2006
So, what did you all think of the Last Comic Standing finale? I have a few thoughts (don't read any further if you haven't seen it yet and don't want to know who won):
1. First of all, I think the format was silly, because all of those other comedians got to do their routines, then Josh's seemed to be cut short and the winner announcement, celebration, etc., all were rushed to get in under an hour and a half. Annoying. The focus should have been on Josh and Ty.
2. I think Ty was funnier, but I understand why America voted for Josh. He is very inspirational. It would be difficult for anyone to get up in front of crowds like that and perform jokes they wrote. But for someone with cerebral palsy to do it, and to do it well? Phenomenal. He deserves the contract and all of that, because he's the type that might not have gotten a chance otherwise. I know Ty will make it, too, though. And Chris, for that matter.
Now, what about Big Brother tonight. Who do you want to see evicted? I don't want either of them to go, because:
a) I love Kaysar. He is so awesomely CALM, and
b) James is part of the "Legion of Doom" with Chill Town, and any ally of Will's is someone I will root for.
Plus, I'm just annoyed that Janelle isn't going home. I hope she's next, especially since she can't compete in the veto competition next week. She's the only in the house right now that I can't really stand. (Although I have to admit that she deserved that Veto because other than Danielle, no one else even tried for it. Idiots! Especially James.)

i think james would have been better off staying with his season 6 alliance even though janelle totally blew it.. I dont know though. its hard to blame it all on her when they all had their chances to take someone that wasnt a floater off. none of them did it when they had the chance.
there is no way that chill town will stay loyal to james. i think they will do and say anything to make him think they will though. my guess is james gets offed this week. that will kinda suck though.

Agree with you on LCS, thank goodness for TiVo... we pretty much ff'd our way through 70% of last night's show. And Josh certainly got shafted, I think his routine was 1/2 the time that Ty got. I think Ty is more well-rounded... though politically incorrect to say, Josh is a bit of a one-trick pony. But I agree, quite inspirational.
Re: BB, I would be THRILLED if James got the boot tonight, he just annoys me to no end -- just a pompous ass. Plus I think he is the most dangerous season 6 player for anyone of the others to keep around. That said, I can't imagine Kaysar has the votes to stay (I've been purposely avoiding the boards/live feeds to remain "unspoiled"). But looks like I lot of action coming up this week... can't wait to see what this "coud d e'tat" thing is all about.

Yeah, tell me about it. I was very annoyed about LCS and we were yelling at Anthony Clark to shut UP already and just make the announcement for God's sake! And then Josh's routine was only, what, two minutes long? What a rip off. I do feel that both Ty and Chris are funnier than Josh but that Josh did deserve to win. There are so many people that are going to look at him and think "Hey, if he can do this, maybe I could do (fill in the blank)." And I also think people that have a hard time accepting people with disabilities would look at them differently as well. And how the heck did Theo Von win? Could he be any more annoying?
BB? I like James. I'm not sure why. He really irritated me last year but I like his relationship with Sara and the signs he's been showing her. I don't blame him for taking the phone call. But then I don't want Kaysar to go because he's so pretty.
I hate Chill Town. I hate them. HATE. I want them gone. Is that too harsh? I cannot understand why no one has put them both up. Get rid of them.
I really feel that Danielle has no one to blame but herself for this. She shouldn't have put up James. She could have nominated a floater. The whole "he's the veto king" was stupid. There is never any guarantee that he would win.
Okay, I am done venting now. Carry on. Oh, when are you going to start talking about Fall shows? I am eagerly awaiting your take on Heroes and Twenty Good Years.

I have to admit to being part of the I love Janelle fan club. If you read the feeds (or recaps at hamsterwatch.com/6togo.com/bb7.html) you'll see the nasty way that people talk about her which makes you (or me ;) ) like her all the more.

I agree DeAnn - I thought Ty was much funnier, and I voted for Ty. And I am a guy with a disability, so that is saying something. However, Josh IS funny, and I am glad someone with a disability is getting the spotlight and breaking down barriers. They try so hard to be diverse on these (reality tv in general) shows (to the point where some really funny white people get shafted) but so often people with disabilities get left out. I am glad LCS dared to be different. Though I don't agree with just about everything else they pulled on us this seeason at least they did that right.

I heart Kasar! I am so sad he is gone. I blame Janelle for it. I liked her on BB6, but she has been so stupid this season. Howie makes me laugh! I love me some BB7!

It's so crazy because last year I was Janelle and Kaysar's biggest fan... but this year I just don't know. Janelle seems to be bitchier this year. As much as I love Kaysar, I wanted him to go hom. For some reason I'm a James fan all the way this year.

I couldn't figure out why Ty was in the top 3. I thought Chris had it in the bag. And was shocked when he was out. I'm happy Josh won. He was genuine.
Also, the format did suck. I FF'd through most of it. I hope they change that next season.
