How was Heroes? | September 26, 2006

So, do you agree with me that Studio 60 and Heroes will/should own Monday nights? I can't wait to see what's coming next week on Heroes, either. What an awesome twist there at the end. And we haven't even met all of the major characters/heroes yet.

NBC has made some very good decisions this year, don't you think? With these and 30 Rock, I think it might be their best new season in a long time.

So, what are your thoughts on Heroes?

I was watching Studio 60's pilot when Heroes was on. That good huh? I really like Studio 60. Great to see all those actors again, especially with Sorkin's and Tommy S on board...

I really loved the Season Premiere and of course I love Studio 60 as well. It's a jam packed monday night. I watch The Class, How I Met Your Mother, then Heroes and Studio 60. My life is slowly draining away while I gouge on tv. But oh well! Who cares! Oh yeah I forgot about Vanished on Fox... but I always watch that one later in the week.

Could you elaborate on the "twist" at the end? I watched it but was exhausted and fell asleep at 9:50! :(

I am always working on Monday nights, but I was happy to get to see the premiere. Kinda cool. You know I'm totally into that kind of stuff, but it seems a little too audience friendly for my taste right now. It will be more interesting the more complicated it gets... I hope.

PS - I need BSG 2.5. I can't find it anywhere. and I need VM 2.0--and I know you need season one back.

With HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER as a lead to both Heroes and Studio 60 ( yea i know different channel ), mondays are looking GREAT.

Mondays has become a major conflict on my TV schedule. I mean, Prison Break, Heroes and Studio 60? Gack! That's 3 hours I cannot get back in a week!

Damned homework... grumble grumble

I feel so left out because everyone and their momma is talking about Heroes today and I'm just not buying it because it feels a little too 4400 meets X-Men to me. But now I have to at least watch the first ep.

I felt the same way. I kept thinking isn't this something we've seen before (and probably done better?) so I never gave Heroes a chance. I'll go ahead and download the pilot off of ITunes. As for Monday Nights, however, Mondays belong to CBS for me. It's so cool-- Mondays on CBS used to be the place to be: Murphy Brown, Designing Women... that was a 1-2 punch you couldn't top! CBS and Mondays go together like NBC and Thursdays. (speaking of which, have you read Desperate Networks? It's written by the guy who wrote The Late Shift and is awesome!)

Oh, I wanted to watch "heroes", but my husband didn't...

Now I mad.

Will I be too behind if I start watching it now?

I agree that we've already seen a lot of this in The 4400 and X-Men. (And even a bit of Lost.)

And maybe I've just seen this type of show too much, but I saw the twist at the end coming.

I know I am addicted to the comic and Hiro's blog on nbc's site. I love studio 60 so that coupled with Prison Break, I am done. 3 hours of my life down the tubes unless I did homework, updated my blog or cleaned (sort of) while watching the shows back-to-back-to-back.

DeAnn,

Not only do I think this is the comeback season for NBC, I think it is the comeback seeason for broadcast television. I have never had so many great shows to choose from! And yes, Heroes was awesome. I hope that they continue to develop the philosophical and moral aspects of the show.

I loved Studio 60 and I do believe Aaron Sorkin writes the best dialogue. It's painful to listen to at times it is so good. Congratulations to Matthew Perry, you are not a Friend anymore. I wonder who is going to be the next Alison Janney.
I watched Heroes but to be fair I thought it was slow. The twist so annoyed me that I probably won't give it another chance. I didn't find the twist necessary and the whole Hero concept could have stood on it's own merit. The movie Cast Away with Tom Hanks was about a guy stranded on a tropical island. The beauty of the film was that the only real and realistic disaster was the plane crash! The were no lifethreatening situations with swarming sharks, giant island creatures, etc. Just a guy on an island who eventually gets off the island. All plausible. With a reasonable suspension of disbelief and good storyline the same could have been true for Heroes, as they appeared to be going for a realistic approach. the twist took that all away, it was right out of the Plot Twists To Make Your Script A Guaranteed Winner If You're Afraid People Won't Like Good Solid Writing manual.

I was surprised but I really did like Heroes. I think that, Studio 60 and Six Degrees have been my new favorite shows of the season--- so far.:)

I LOVED IT!

I am slightly in love with Hiro. I cannot wait for tonight. I knew what the twist was going to be but it was still cool seeing it (some jerk blabbed on imdb).
