The Amazing Race All Stars cast | January 24, 2007

OK, so my good sources were wrong about a number of things concerning the teams for The Amazing Race: All Stars -- mainly the NUMBER of teams. There are 11 (I had 14 in my guess list). They're announced. Apparently it happened while I was on vacation last week. Grrr.

So, here is my take on it all, season by season:

Season 1:

Kevin and Drew: YAY! Yay, yay, yay! My early favorites. I love them and want them to win. Go Kevin and Drew.

Joe and Bill (the Guidos): Glad they're back, and I think that they actually have a very good shot at winning. They did a good job the first time and now they've watched for 10 seasons!!

Season 2:

Oswald and Danny: OK, I love them, too. I won't be upset if these guys win, and I think they could if there is no whining this time!!

Season 3:

JohnVito and Jill: Another favorite team of mine, I think these two have a fighting chance. And what's awesome is that this isn't about seeing if they're meant to be. They're too grounded, and they know they are.

Teri and Ian: I didn't hate them as much as many others did, but ... meh. They shouldn't be back. Instead we should have someone from a season that doesn't have any returners.

Season 4:

NO ONE. I would have loved to see the clowns, Jon and Al, back. I don't understand how an all-star season can't include the BEST. TEAM. EVER.

Season 5:

Charla and Mirna: I hate Mirna and am pretty upset these ladies are back. I think a number of the producers' choices were about having all-women teams back, but why not Emily and Nancy (season 1) or Monica and Sheree (season 4)?

Season 6:

Again, NO ONE. Why not Lori and Bolo? Or Kris and Jon?

Season 7:

Rob and Amber: I could live my life without ever seeing them on TV again. I think they even have their own dumb show on some cable channel. But I won't watch it. They bug.

Uchenna and Joyce: I LOVE them, but don't really like that only one winning team gets to come back. Why is that? I'd rather the slot go to someone who didn't win unless more winning teams were to return.

Season 8:

NONE, thank goodness. I hated Family Edition.

Season 9:

Eric and Danielle: This is that weird combo team, but I would have rather seen Eric and Jeremy back. I didn't like Danielle or Dani much, but I liked Eric and Jeremy. I get they were trying to shake it up with this pairing, but ... it's more boring than anything.

Season 10:

David and Mary: I love them. I hope they make friends again, but that they run their own race. This will be even more competitive than season 10, so they need to be on their game to stand a chance. I'd love to see them make it far again, though. They're just good people.

Dustin and Kandice: I'm less happy about seeing them back than about Rob and Amber, so that's saying something. There are better all-female teams out there to choose. And if they felt like they need to draw from recent seasons to get viewers, well, they should have gone with the Chos or someone who people didn't HATE quite so much.
