My fall schedule ... at last | September 17, 2007

I know you've all been waiting to fill your TiVo with new shows until I told you what I'm watching. Well, I finally did. You'll find a handy guide to what DeAnn's watching here.

What are YOU planning to watch? Comment here or there and let me know.

Friday Night Lights... on Friday Night? That's where NBC puts TV shows to die. Sigh.

I watched the Bionic Woman pilot on OnDemand, and I wasn't impressed by it. It seemed like every scene in the first two acts was expository, and the dialogue was really clunky in parts. Still, establishing a relationship between an older, rogue bionic woman and a new one does set up what could be an interesting season.

Sadly, I don't yet have my fall lineup set, yet.

Sunday:
Curb Your Enthusiasm: Season's off to a great start.

Monday:
How I Met Your Mother: I might have to give this show another chance, but I have an unexplainable violent reaction to laugh tracks, no matter how good the show.

Heroes: Yay, Kristen Bell! (Did you notice her front and center with the cast at the Emmys, by the way?) But I'm hoping the show can avoid a ton of potential landmines for its second season.

Prison Break: Keeping this show on a very short leash this season.

Tuesday:
The Unit: See Prison Break.

Wednesday:
Pushing Daisies: Like the concept a lot; curious to see if they can pull it off.

Gossip Girl: I saw a teaser for this, and I totally thought Blake Lively's character was a teacher or something. An online bio I found claims she is 20, but she looks way too old for this, especially next to her classmates. I doubt I'll watch, but I just wanted to point that out.

The Bionic Woman: I watched the pilot on demand and was like, "Meh." I'll probably give it another shot.

Thursday:
My Name Is Earl.

30 Rock: This might have been the only Emmy winner I was happy about. "What am I, a farmer?" was the best line uttered on TV last season.

The Office.

Scrubs.

Grey's Anatomy: I am losing man points as I type this.

Kitchen Nightmares: Can't wait to see how this gets translated for Fox's tastes. The original version, on BBC America, features at least one scene per episode of Gordon Ramsay shirtless, which me and my friends find far too amusing.

Smallville: Last year's show on a short lease. I was talking with friends a few weeks back, and we determined we had the "I can't take it anymore" epiphany at the exact same moment -- the illegal alien episode. I deleted the series recording setting on my DVR at that point, but I'll give the show one last chance.

Friday:
Friday Night Lights: One of three shows absolutely robbed in the Emmy nominating. (The Wire and The Shield being the other two.) Quite a bit of (show) time has passed since the end of Season 1, so I'm interested to see how this plays out.

What no Dancing With the Stars?!? C'mon you can fit it in?!? For the first time in a long time, I am cutting WAAAY back on my fall TV.

MON: DWTS, HIMYM
TUE: DWTS, Singing Bee
WED: Bionic Woman, Dirty Sexy Money
THU: NBC sitcoms
SUN: Viva Laughlin, DHousewives, Bro & Sis

That's pretty much it! Though I'll have to brace for Idol, Lost, and 24 all coming back in January, plus Amazing Race will likely be back sooner rather than later, once one of CBS' hour long shows kicks the bucket. Lots of stuff on cable, but for everyone's attention span, I'll just leave it at this.
